Doloc Town Villagers, Shops, and Gifts
Two parcels a week, three on a birthday — who to visit before you burn the cap.
Doloc Town’s townies are not flavor text. Hearts unlock recipes, shop stock, story gates, and Steam achievements. If Friendships is the system page, this is the who-is-who page: where people stand, when shops open, how the weekly gift cap works, and which faces you should not ignore before Old City Ruins. The game is single-player; there is no shared affection board.
Community catalogs list on the order of twenty-nine villagers. You will not max every heart in week one. You will regret skipping Cassia / Kasia, Mayor Claud, Alchemy, Gerald, Lank, Mody, Cod, and Hult because they sit on the first-month loop.
Gift rules you should internalize
Normal weeks allow two gifted parcels in total — not two per NPC. Birthdays raise the cap to three. Loved gifts move the heart bar; hated gifts waste the cap and can stall an arc. Talk once per day; repeating empty lines does nothing. Festival days (see Festivals) add extra conversation windows, not infinite presents.
If you need a loved/hated lookup while the day clock is running, use the gift tools on doloctowndb.wiki via our community database page. This wiki explains why you gift; the database lists what they love.
Core town loop
Cassia / Kasia — Tutorial farmer on your plot. Steam’s Blooming Friendship achievement uses the Kasia spelling for the same person. Cooked sweets, forage treats, and showing up at her festival stall matter more than dumping raw Endyam. She is the reason Cooking is a social skill, not just a stamina skill.
Mayor Claud — Town hall. Starts the Eden investigation, tracks notebook bills, and later asks for restoration materials. Dressed plates and civic materials beat junk scrap. Missing Claud’s mail delays Walkthrough timers you thought were “just waiting.”
Alchemy — Botanical lab left of the town elevator. Plant samples, gene-ready crops, and rare herbs. Lab analyzer upgrades and Eden disk turn-ins live here. Do not sell the last stack she mailed about.
Hult — General store. Backpack on day one (Money), daily goods, and later bulk seeds once research exists. Shops have hours; chests in the world do not. If the counter is closed, gather or sleep — do not stand in the doorway.
Lank — Trader. High-value produce and unusual fish raise buy prices and rare rotations. He is your early gold sink and your early gold faucet.
Gerald — Builder. Wood, sheet metal, crafted furniture. Heart mail discounts structural upgrades that keep machines alive in acid rain (Weather Protection).
Mody — Mechanic. Batteries, wire, machine parts. Required for the Environmental Modifier wiring archive and 1.0 automation tutoring with Cod.
Cod — Gunsmith. Combat modules and alloy scraps. Guild drone loadouts for Drone Combat pass through this counter.
Merlin — Blacksmith. Copper pickaxe materials for the River Valley rockfall. Closed mornings are a real schedule, not a bug — Controls will not open a shutter.
Valley, port, and 1.0 faces
Mira — River Valley outpost. Blueprint handoff after Night Assembly. Orland (often Orlando in localizations) handles guild and jetpack beats. Pike visits town on Mondays during the Old City prep chapter — if you miss Monday, you wait a week.
Paiea — Treaty port leadership, irregular hours. Water-purification trade and wetland access sit on this relationship. Kenenimuu opens the Animal tech tree after the small barn tutorial and later shrine side tasks that feed terraforming parts.
Sakko — 1.0 social/festival quests. Heron and Ponka belong to Old City ruins beats (spoilers on the Walkthrough). Shylock is the haggling merchant whose Biomass Directory path unlocks advanced gene-pool traits — bring gold, Golden Fish, and patience, not a first-week wallet.
Witch (Wetland, night) — Obsidian and other night-only stock. Bring a light source and a reason to be in the swamp after dark.
Shops versus chests
Town shops close. Hidden rooms and outdoor chests do not. If you are hunting Secrets, you can loot at 2 a.m.; you cannot buy a bag from Hult. Learn the 10:00–16:00 style windows the first week so you stop wasting energy jogging to a locked smithy.
Mail is part of the NPC system. Heart thresholds send recipe books that never appear in a vendor list. Check the box after every festival and every story night. The Daily checklist exists so you do not skip mail on a harvest morning.
How this page relates to friendships
Use this page to decide who to visit today. Use the gift finder for the weekly two-parcel cap. Use Friendships for heart math, Blooming Friendship steps, and recipe-gate philosophy. Use Achievements when you are hunting the social trophies among the 80 Steam achievements. Use Festivals when the calendar compresses three social actions into one day.
Doloc Town remembers who showed up. Walk the elevator, gift on purpose, and leave the weekly cap for someone whose mail actually opens a door.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many gifts can I give each week?
Two parcels in a normal week, three on a birthday. That is a global cap, not two gifts per villager.
Is Cassia the same person as Kasia?
Yes. In-game tutorial text uses Cassia; the Blooming Friendship achievement uses Kasia for the same NPC.
Why is the general store closed?
Shops have hours. Chests do not. Come back in the open window or sleep; standing at the counter will not help.
Where do I look up loved gifts?
Use the villager catalog on doloctowndb.wiki and the community database page. This guide covers roles and caps, not every liked item.
Which NPCs should I prioritize first?
Cassia/Kasia, Claud, Alchemy, Hult, Lank, Gerald, Mody, and Cod. Valley and port faces unlock as the story opens new maps.
Does multiplayer share hearts?
No. Doloc Town 1.0 is single-player. Hearts exist only on your save.
